The new Speed Pro TT
The Speed Pro TT is gone but that doesn’t mean that Dahon doesn’t have anything new in store for people looking for a compact folding road bike. Taking the old and reliable Dahon Speed Pro TT frame off the shelves was not an easy thing to take, but Dahon always does it for the better. It is apparent that there isn’t much that can be improved on the classic frame, and therefore Dahon decided that it was high time to come out with a new frame that represents a significant improvement.
Significant improvement came in a new form – the Speed Pro TT’s new evolution is now named the Vector x27h. It has the same bright yellow colour with a black stripe running lengthwise on the frame, but the frame has been completely redone. In a sense, all Vector frames are hydroformed and have a beefier hinge. Dahon sees this as a means of combatting flex.
Equipment is still top-notch – the drivetrain is a two-tier gearing system, employing the 3-speed DualDrive II and a 9-speed Shimano Ultegra derailleur to give you 27-speeds. Kinetix Pro lines two main parts of the bike, including the wheelset and brakes. The bike comes with bullbars and, despite which, Dahon claims a very compact fold of 39 x 77 x 62cm.
How well it will function as a road bike as well as a folding bike will be tested in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
