Serial Bike Thief Arrested; How to Choose a Good Bike Lock

On Oct 4, a 28 year-old man was arrested on a suspected count of serial bicycle thefts.

Last month, several victims reported their bikes stolen from bicycle bays of private condominiums in Bukit Timah.

Police arrested the man at Woodlands Rise, after intensive investigations on Oct 3.

E-scooters: Teen Causes Grievous Hurt to Housewife; Statistics and Measures

Just today, teenager Nicholas Ting Nai Jie, 18, was charged in court for causing grievous hurt to a housewife while riding his electric scooter on 17 Sept 2016. He ran into the woman while on his e-scooter running through the front of a bus stop at Pasir Ris Drive 1. Notably, he was going at a relatively high speed in a crowded area. The 54-year old lady, Madam Ang Liu Kiow, came down with life-threatening head injuries. She stayed in hospital for three months, suffered multiple strokes and underwent two brain operations.

Cycling to Work Made Easier with Travel Smart Grant

As of 30 September 2017, the Land Transport Authority has said that it will extend its Travel Smart Grant to office building developers or owners for them to build more shower facilities, lockers and drying stations. Previously, only companies could apply for for the grant. LTA may fund up to 80%, capped at $80,000 per development.
