The Review
I used this pedal for over a year before I have shifted to clipless, All I can say is that this pedal out of the box is appealing with its two-tone (black and silver) finish but will not appeal those weight weenies out there due to its 500-gram claimed weight (pair). At first I have a descent foot grip with my Five Ten freerider shoes on and noticed that it was sometimes I felt my feet was out of the pedal, my problem was solved when I removed the washers that was pre-installed on each of the pins, This pedals for me is best paired with a Five Ten flat shoe out there. As we all know, Shimano have no put any cartridge bearing on their pedals to minimize the need for maintenance. This pedal also have experienced a lot of beating and still work as it is new before I have sold it.
I will recommend this pedal to all Mountain Biker out there who is not afraid of putting a heavy but sturdy pedal on their bikes.
